Content Crystallizer: Transform Manuscripts From Word Into Clear Structured Content

Content Crystallizer is an automated solution that styles, edits, and transforms Word documents into high-quality XML through a streamlined, three-step process. Publishers can use the DCL solution solely for automated editorial updates to a manuscript or integrate it throughout the entire workflow: from manuscript to production-ready XML. Content Crystallizer requires no additional investment in software; rather, document preparation, reference tagging, editorial review, Word-to-XML conversion, and secure access to the DCL portal are included and can integrate with your existing software.

Content Clarity Analysis: Ensure Content Integrity and Discoverability

For publishers planning strategic improvements to how content is developed, produced, and distributed, understanding content metrics and quality across the entire catalog is essential. At last month's Society for Scholarly Publishing Annual Meeting, DCL's Marianne Calilhanna presented a poster session that detailed why uncovering issues with inconsistent or wrong tagging and metadata is the first step to boosting search engine visibility, database retrieval, and AI-driven discovery. Scholarly publishing content is vast and the pace of production never ceases. Making time to analyze decades of content ultimately ensures scholarly content is more discoverable and valuable.

Strange Mechanical Structure That Shrinks When Stretched

A recent article published in PNAS presents a counterintuitive structure that shrinks when stretched. When pulled, all things stretch. However, researchers in the Netherlands have created mechanical structures that strangely shrink, or to be specific - snap inward - instead of stretching outward when pulled. This novel design that combines mechanics and geometry is called "countersnapping" and could provide many useful applications, ranging from protective gear and prosthetics to vibration dampening in construction and aviation.

Be AI-Ready: Content Rules’ Top Resources to Prepare Your Content for AI Success
The main challenge most organizations must solve is how to incorporate proprietary enterprise content — your intellectual property — into AI solutions. General-purpose AI models don’t know your business content and your IT and security teams are working hard to keep it that way. Even specialized AI models trained on industry-specific information require significant additional training and further optimization to be truly useful to your enterprise. Companies need AI solutions that are able to share information pertinent to their business.

Hello, world. The Future of Content Starts Here

RWS have launched a bold new brand, opening a new chapter in the company’s journey. But this isn’t just about a new logo or colour palette. Meeting the FDA's Emerging SPL Requirements

DCL is the industry-leading SPL conversion vendor for many of the world's leading global pharma organizations. DCL reported on the SPL spec right from the beginning:

"Within the SPL arena itself, the exact detail of supplying information in XML is ever changing. In late 2004, the SPL schema was in Version 1. As of spring 2005, the HL7 committee developing the interchange schema is considering both a version 2A and version 2B that introduces more structure to the information that constitutes an SPL instance. XML is here to stay, and will likely turn out to be the core technology that you use to transmit information to the regulatory authorities."
