The Internet Archive Was Hacked

The Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library that aims to provide "universal access to all knowledge." It was founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle and has since grown into one of the largest online repositories of digital content. The Wayback Machine is one of the Internet Archive's most well-known tools. It allows users to browse archived versions of websites over time, essentially acting as a digital time machine for the internet. Earlier this month, The Wayback Machine suffered a data breach after a threat actor compromised the website and stole a user authentication database containing 31 million unique records. Many Internet Archive services are temporarily offline.

Configured, converted, and migrated, oh my!
Members of the Comtech-managed Center for Information-Development Management recently transitioned to a new CCMS. They defined a core team primarily responsible for vetting candidate systems and laying the groundwork for administering a new system. Part of this process involved specialized training for the core team, which they would later complement with training for the whole team in DITA authoring and how to use the new system. They had to anticipate and accommodate key project milestones the Tech Comm team supported. Could they avoid a writing freeze? What was the backup plan if they encountered delays?
